Silence is a complicated film. Based on the 1966 novel of the same name by Shusaku Endo, it tells the story of two Jesuit priests who travel to Japan to learn the fate of their mentor and spread the gospel of Christianity throughout the country. It is an honest look into faith, doubt, persecution, and the mystery of God. In this conversation we attempt to understand our feelings about its characters and the decisions they make.
