Episode 321: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

The newest MCU film has monsters, zombies, demons, and mass murderer, giving it a distinctly horror tone, but thankfully director Sam Raimi brings the humor too as a sorcerer and witch travel through the multiverse.

Episode 305: Nine Days

We probably should start off the new year with something nice and light, but instead we are following up last week’s conversation about how best to live when facing death with a very different style of film that tackles similar themes. This film is like heavy, but extremely moving and has the potential to impact how you look at your time here on this earth. Enjoy the discussion.

Episode 291: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Another Marvel superhero origin story? Phase 4 of the MCU kicks off with something familiar, but that ends up being delivered in a wholly unique and special way. Full of cultural importance, relatable relationship drama, and plenty of excellent fight choreography, this martial arts centered fantasy is a treat and introduces a new face to the universe that we are instantly big fans of.

Episode 276: Raya and the Last Dragon

This week we dig deeper into Disney’s newest animated tale, a fantastical adventure in a Southeastern Asian inspired land where a dragon must join forces with a human warrior princess to unite a broken world. This film’s themes provide a timely message and come wrapped in a visually spectacular package that we thoroughly enjoy discussing in depth.

Episode 163: Avengers: Endgame

This week we are of course talking about the final chapter in a story 10 years and 22 films in the making. We break down our reaction to this once-in-generation event, while also taking a look back at the past and contemplating the future. This is a wonderful conversation that we both thoroughly enjoyed and think you will, too.

MOVIE REVIEW: Avengers: Endgame

100% spoiler-free with no plot points even hinted at! AVENGERS: ENDGAME closes the book on one of the greatest film franchise achievements in history on a very high note. It is every bit the emotional experience you expect & a gratifying finale. Also, for the first time in 10+ years there is no post-credit scene so feel free to rush to the bathroom as required.

Episode 127: Sunshine

Having already gone to the moon this month we are now taking a trip to the sun for our week three conversation in #SciFiSeptember. Sunshine, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, is frighteningly beautiful and contemplative in that way that the best sci-fi always is – giving us themes of spirituality, science, and humanity to consider while being thoroughly entertained in a tight, tense 100 minutes. All that makes for a fantastic conversation. We hope you enjoy this one as much as we did.
